WHAT IS the mk project?

the mk project is a way to challenge myself and my friends to support the local community, cause, charity or organization. By bridging 2 of my passions (music and volunteering), I hope that we can support each other to raise awareness, donations and time for our causes, and to leave a legacy for others to follow. We are all grateful for our lives and what we have, but how often do we express our gratitude and help people who really need our support and time? the mk project is a ONE-TIME challenge to my friends to TAKE ACTION TODAY.

HOW DOES the mk project WORK?

It’s very simple. There are only 3 steps to show your support for your cause or charity through the mk project.

Step One
PICK A SONG that I can learn on the violin. Can be traditional classical piece, contemporary pop, alternative, movie theme or kid’s song. (not too weird and not too hard please)

Step Two
DONATE or VOLUNTEER. Select from one of ‘the mk project’ charities or choose a charity or cause on your own. If you currently support an organization, up your donation or volunteer time. It can be $50 or $1,000 … 1 hour or 50 hours. (you’re donating directly to the charity – not through me!)

Step Three
SEND ME your song and donation amount/volunteer time and I will recognize your contribution. I will practice your song and record it to the best of my ability. I hope to launch an album by Christmas 2010! (and maybe a concert too)

WHY SUPPORT the mk project?

There is no pressure to support the mk project. However, I sincerely hope that you will consider joining the movement and supporting me in this very challenging endeavour. By Christmas 2010, I hope to record an album of your selections as a small token of my appreciation. You won’t have to donate if I am unable to perform your selected piece, which holds everyone accountable in the end.

the mk project is about building awareness for great causes & charities through volunteering, donations & music. the mk project is about leaving a legacy for those that need our love, support and time.

Make it a point to DONATE TODAY… Otherwise, it won’t happen.
